The health-centric mYoga app announced by PM Modi is jointly developed by the Ministry of Ayush and the World Health Organisation. The app aims to offer assisted yoga training to everyone without needing to sign in. the app is designed for beginners and has two sections:
Learning tabPractice tab
The learning tab is intended for users who are relatively new to yoga. This section comprises a successive set of videos that allow users to learn the various yoga asanas with proper technique. The practice tab, on the other hand, focusses on users who have learnt the asanas. Both sections offer different time durations – 10 minutes, 20 minutes, and even strenuous 45 minutes yoga session.
Who should download mYoga app?
The WHO mYoga app focuses on helping users pursue a “physically active lifestyle through yoga practice”. It is available for users between 18-65 years of age. It adheres to “Common Yoga Protocol” (CYP), which was chosen by the “international expert group and is practiced by millions of people around the world every year”. Pregnant women and those above 65 years of age should perform yoga asanas under the supervision of a trained teacher.

The new mYoga app aims to educate people about yoga with the help of a library of audio and video clips. Available in Hindi as well as in English, users can stream or even download and save videos offline to watch them later.
