Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa had launched the combat mobile game ‘IAF: A Cut above’ in New Delhi on July 31 to increase awareness about the India Air Force. The 3-D video game also aims to encourage the Indian youth to join armed forces.

Moreover, it also features a character that bears resemblance to the Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman because of its similar gunslinger moustache which certainly adds to its charm. Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman had made the headlines earlier this year when he was captured and later released by Pakistan after his MiG-21 Bison aircraft was shot down during an aerial combat. Moreover, the combat simulator also allow users to choose from an array of popular fighter aircrafts including Rafale Mirage-2000 and Tejas. To further enhance the gaming experience, Vice Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Harjit Singh Arora had also launched the multiplayer version of the game earlier this month. It has over a million installs from the Google Play Store so far. Furthermore, the game has an overall rating of 4.4 Stars and 4.0 Stars on Google Play Store and Apple App Store respectively.

Google has shared the list of all the nominees on the Play Store and the winner will be decided by public votes. Indian Air Force has asked users through its Twitter handle to vote for their interactive combat game. Apart from games, Google has also released the list for Users’ Choice Award nominees for movies, books, and apps.
