After months of anticipation, game developers have finally released the first look of the game with the new teaser. In the one-minute-long teaser video, we saw a glimpse of old-style combat without weapons reminding us of the Galwan valley incident. It was being speculated by many industry experts that first episode of the game will be inspired from the real life, Galwan Valley incident. The recently released FAU-G teaser had just confirmed the Galwan speculations. Popular Bollywood Actor and app’s partner; Akshay Kumar also took to his Twitter to share the exciting news and indigenous game’s teaser. He tweeted, “Today we celebrate the victory of good over evil, and what better day to celebrate our Fearless and United Guards, our FAU-G! On the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, presenting the #FAUG teaser.@nCore_games @BharatKeVeer @vishalgondal #AtmanirbharBharat #StartupIndia” However, the trailer does not spill many more beans around the FAU-G weaponry and game play. The game has been developed by the Indian game developer firm; nCore Games. The development team hopes to compete with various international games including the likes of earlier banned PUBG Mobile. Vishal Gondal, Co-founder, nCore Games’ said in a statement, “There’s a belief that Indian game developers can’t produce good quality games, at nCore we want to prove that mentality wrong and bring out games that can compete with international games. Our team of developers are highly qualified and capable of developing games as good as PUBG or any other international games.”
What FAU-G app launch will mean for PUBG Comeback?
Indian government had banned 118 Chinese apps including PUBG Mobile app earlier this year. The ban had come amidst rising tensions across the India-China LAC alleging that the banned Chinese apps were a threat to the country’s security. The move had also created an opportunity for various Indian app developers to promote their own indigenous substitutes. Talking of the gaming community in particular, Player’s Unknown Battleground combat gaming app was a huge success in the country with millions of active players. FAU-G app was also announced soon after the PUBG app. It was initially anticipated to launch by October end. But, latest updates suggest at a postponed November release. Although, we still don’t have a confirmed FAU-G release date so far. Nevertheless, with Indian players hoping to fill the gap for the domestic market, timing of PUBG’s return to India will now be of even more essence especially with the upcoming FAU-G game’s release in the country. There have been on and off speculations and media reports about PUBG Corporation looking for an Indian partner. But, the South Korean gaming giant has been unable to mark its official comeback to one of its largest growing markets.
